Giant Python found in Australian Thift Shop

When Billschannel viewer Kelvin Ayala sent me this picture, he asked if it was real or fake. Together we did a little research and it turns out to be real. According to a number of reliable new sites, this is a 19 Foot (5.7 Meter) Python that fell through the roof one night at a thrift shop in Queensland, Northeastern Australia.

Owners of the store came in the morning to find a hole in the ceiling and floor covered in vomit, but no snake. They called the police who investigated it as a burglary, but later a shop worker spotted the snake hiding along a wall.

Police now suspect the python entered the store through the roof, which was damaged in a cyclone two years ago.

The animal then plummeted through the ceiling, knocking over dishes, clothes and other items, before relieving itself on the floor. It somehow managed to hide from officials until discovered later by staff.

A local snake catcher was called in to capture the reptile, which has been relocated to nearby wetlands.
